Workers' Compensation Benefits

In Arizona, workers' compensation benefits do not include damages for pain and suffering, but do include medical benefits for treatment of the injury and compensation benefits for time missed from work due to the injury (or benefits paid to the dependents of workers who die as a result of the industrial injury). In Arizona, every employer who has one or more employees who is "regularly employed" is required by law to have workers' compensation coverage to cover workers who are injured or killed on the job. If an employer fails to purchase insurance, there is a "special fund" at the Industrial Commission of Arizona that covers injured employees of that employer.
